FAQ
These are just a few questions I've received over the years that I'm going to address here. If you have a question that isn't addressed here, please send me an email @ contact@pinesandneedlestattoo.com
Question
What is the shop minimum?
How much is this going to be?
Answer
My shop minimum is $80 and I charge 150 an hour.
Generally there's no way for me to know how long a piece will take, or how much it will be unless i've drawn it myself.
Question
Do you do piercings?
Answer
No, piercing requires a whole different license.
I do not know anyone who does piercings, and do not intend on getting a piercer until I get into a larger shop.
Question
Where are you located?
Answer
I'm located in downtown Bastrop TX, at the beautiful "Harmony Ridge" in the blue duplex right across from Neighbors at 601 Chestnut.
I'm in the suite H-1, closest to neighbors.
Question
Do you Tattoo FACES, NECKS, OR HANDS?
Answer
Please contact me as this is a person by person basis answer.
Question
Do I need an appointment to get a tattoo?
Answer
Fridays are my designated walk-in days. All other days I'm open are by appointment only and walk in's are simply on a case by case basis. If I have a lot to draw, or if I'm required back at the house I may not be able to guarantee a spot for any particular work week.
Question
Do you require a deposit?
What happens if I need to change my appointment?
What happens if I'm late or don't show up?
Answer
Yes. Your deposit secures your appointment and my ensures I can work on your project stress-free. Everyone works better with a deadline, including me. My time is valuable and I spend a lot of it working on pieces to get them just right for my clients.
ALL deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, although they will transfer to another date if you get in contact with me 48 hours prior to our scheduled appointment.
If you're late, get in contact with me as soon as you can to let me know. Without prior contact, If you're late by more than 20 minutes your appointment is considered a no-call no-show and you will be required to send another deposit to secure another date.
If you no-call no-show without any attempts to get in contact with me the day of the scheduled appointment, I will no longer work with you as a client.
Question
What If I don't like the piece you produce?
When will I get to see the art?
Answer
As a serious artist, I'm thrilled for my work to be critiqued and to be told it needs work.
I will redraw any piece in its entirety once, but will always try to conduct free minor changes, within reason. If I need to redraw the whole piece over more than once, we might have to move the scheduled appointment back and secure another deposit.
If you don't like the first rendition, I will reach out, ask more follow up questions, and provide examples for you to choose from to help direct my efforts.
Depending on the complexity of the piece, and my work load; I work on projects anywhere from one to three weeks before the scheduled appointment.
Question
Do you do designs drawn by other artists?
Do you rework existing work?
Do you finish art other artists have abandoned?
Do you do cover ups?
Answer
Yes. It depends on the design, but typically things on Pinterest are loved by all sorts and I have no problems with it.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I prefer you use my art, but I also consider what I do to be a service to my clients, above anything else. I will never be able to post another artists work as my own.
But sometimes artists pass away, circumstances change, and bridges are burned. So I'm more than happy to help you revitalize any pieces you're unhappy with, depending on the original tattoo, it may require you to get some of it lightened with lasers.
Cover ups are some of the most challenging design concepts to work on.
I will be honest with you, and if it can be done I will take it on.
